2008 Rev XP DriveshaftMar 6/09
If you have heard about the 2008 Ski-Doo Rev XP driveshaft issue. Here are the straight goods. There was a slight change in the formula of the metals used on the driveshaft components during production. The result was an axle that was stiffer but more brittle than the originals that were rode and tested last year. The spin weld that passed all the testing has been failing under extreme service, IE racing, mountain riding, a lot of full throttle lake running, or hard running with studded tracks(heavier). There was a Race Bulletin published regarding this issue. All 2008 Ski-Doo Rev XP driveaxles need to be replaced. Please take yours immediately to your selling dealer for free replacement. This is necessary even if the axle was replaced or welded in 2008.
